Diabetes is a major issue in the U. S. Anyone can develop diabetes. But some people are more likely to develop the condition than others. In the past, few Native Americans got diabetes. Today, Native Americans are more likely to get the disease than other Americans. Schools that Native American children attend want to help. They have a program to teach students about diabetes.
