Social grants will not encourage teenagers to become parents at an early stage since the main reason teenagers preform sexual activities is for the act itself and not for the desire of becoming a parent.

That being said a social gran will facilitate teenagers commiting to become parents as opposed to aborting or putting up for adoption since the social grant will provide them with means to take care of themselves and the baby.
