The witchcraft trials that took place in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692 and 1693 have raised many questions. Until now, we have had few answers to explain the actions taken by the Salem community. What caused it was most likely religious propaganda. anyone that they deemed opposed the church could be prosecuted and many women who were not “girly” enough or did something the church didn’t like were said to be witches however there is no evidence that any of them were. it was to scare people into religion
