Atom: All matter is made up of atoms. They are small units that combine to make matter. It came from a Greek word and were considered the smallest things in the universe.

Elements: They are made up of one type of atom only. Elements are known be the building blocks of all the matter in the world.

Compound: Compounds are the made up of the combination of more than one element which is bonded together through chemical forces of attraction.

Relationship between elements atoms and compounds: Atoms combine together to make an element and elements further combine to form a compound.
