Famous primatologist jane goodall earned international notoriety for her studies of chimpanzees. much of her research was spent observing the animals from afar without interfering with their day to day lives. this type of research, called observation, is important because it allows observation of behaviors without interfering with or changing those behaviors.

Naturalistic observation is a scientific research method that is used by psychologists and by another social psychologist. In this process, the researcher used this type of research by observing the subject in natural settings. This research is conducted for a purpose. In the laboratory, many times subject not behave in a manner as a researcher want but behave the same in natural settings. So that many times behavior is measured in natural settings as same as a researcher wants to observe.  

Thus here in the above statement Primatologist, Jame Goodall gets prize o her research on a chimpanzee in natural settings. This type of research is called naturalistic observation.
