What are some of the negative issues the eu has faced due to the migration issues it faced

The migrant crisis that started in 2015 brought unprecedented influx of migrants to the European Union countries, who were coming into the EU through Mediterranean seas and Southeast Europe.

The flow of asylum seekers have also motivated economic migrants to follow their pass as well. EU have attracted economic migrants for ages, many of whom came illegally. During the crisis, the majority of migrants came without documents and prove that they can claim asylum status, which made it very difficult to distinguish between them and thus allocate respective support. A number of female migrants entered EU being pregnant or became pregnant in the camps. As a result, a significant number of children were born on the EU territory with stateless status, because their parents have not supported their citizenship. The issue of human traffickers and smugglers became very acute. They were charging migrants $1,000 to $1,500 for the boat from Turkey to Greece and much more for further travel to Germany and Great Britain. Greece, in particular, did not have the capacity to address the issue and appealed for help from the EU.
