Depois de ser relançado na China, “Avatar”, de James Cameron, passou “Vingadores: Ultimato” e retomou a posição de maior bilheteria do mundo. [...] Lançado em 2009, o filme de Cameron se manteve no topo da lista de maiores bilheterias do mundo por uma década. O título foi perdido em 2019, com o lançamento do último filme da saga dos Vingadores, “Vingadores: Ultimato”.

A diferença entre os dois filmes era de US$ 7,8 milhões, cerca de R$ 43,3 milhões. Agora, ela foi passada e com folga. Só no primeiro dia em cartaz na China, “Avatar” arrecadou US$ 8,9 milhões, aproximadamente R$ 49,42 milhões.

Atualmente, Cameron está trabalhando em quatro sequências de “Avatar”. O próximo filme, que foi adiado várias vezes, está agendado para lançamento em dezembro de 2022.
