Harry decided to plant pumpkins in the year’s garden. He wants to harvest them by October 1 so he can use them to decorate his house for the autumn and Halloween. After talking to an expert at the local greenhouse, Larry learns that pumpkin seeds usually take about 100 days to fully develop into fruit. He flips through the pages of a calendar and guesses that he’ll need to plant sometime in June. He notes that there are 30 days in September, 31 days in August, 31 days in July, and 30 days in June. If Marley plants on June 1, will that give the seeds enough time to mature? Is there a different date that Larry should plan to plant?
