Now you can see that we have variables that are the same, it's y's and x's, I will chose to work with the y's.

After you chose with what variable you want to work with you gotta make sure that the variable is the same and the number in front of it to.

After you do that you have to think of what sign you have to use to get a zero out of that two variables.

For y's i have to use subtraction to make sure that both y's will get to zero. after that you make your whole equation subtract it self.

Now, 4-(-2) equals to 6. And 3x-(-3x) equals to 6x.      

Now we have 6=6x, we divide both numbers by the number in front of the variable. 6 / 6 equals to one. Now you got the answer for the X.

After you found one of your unknown variables you plug in the variable value that you found like this:  4=3x-y  =  4=3-y

And then you do this just like with the one variable equation,   4 = 3-y
