Ascatterplot is a useful summary of a set of bivariate data (two variables), usually drawn before working out a linear correlation coefficient or fitting a regression line. it gives a good visual picture of the relationship between the two variables, and aids the interpretation of the correlation coefficient or regression model. scatterplots can also give us visual evidence of outliers or suspicious observations. create a scatterplot for the following population data, using t = 0 to stand for 1950. then estimate the population of namibia in the years 1940, 1997, and 2005. note: population values are in thousands.
