Why was Marcus Licinius Crassus considered unethical by Romans in 43 CE? In 64 C. E., Emperor Augustus borrowed Crassus's basic technology and improved upon it by adding buckets, water pumps and instruments for pulling
down walls.

Emperor Augustus did form groups of men to scour neighborhoods to watch for fires at night, so that the bucket brigades could put them out.

Crassus's was an ethical wealthy businessman because he made it known that he intended to give all profits to charity.

Crassus's actions were unethical because he asked for payment first and withheld his help in putting out the fire until he received payment.
