How did ideas of “freedom” and/or“democracy”influence the history of the united states after 1800? were these influences positive or negative (or both)? provide at least three examples.

The Idea of Freedom and Democracy had a profound impact on the United States in the 1800s and continues to do so till date.

However, these ideas, while positive in nature were used by all kinds of people to further their agenda and justify their actions and beliefs. 

For example, the dream of 'Freedom' gave rise to 'Manifest Destiny' and the Unites States expansion into western lands which lead to the death of thousands of Native Americans.

The call for 'Democracy' was also used by slave owners as their right to bear slaves to run their plantations and help their families live a better life.

However, the culmination of these led to the American Civil War erupting between the Northern and Southern States who both believed that they were preserving 'Freedom and Democracy'
