Though the intentions of the French Revolution were noble, the succeeding events were not as noble. It was quite exaggerating for everyone to start hunting down the elite and killing them. Their problems were not solved at all. Clubs were established after the former government had fallen. Robespierre led Club Jacobin, while Dumourier led Club Cordelier. Later, factions were formed. The Jacobins under Robespierre were very radical, and chose to resort to violence to simply achieve their goals. The Jacobins wated a new order, a new world - they wanted to remove everything the old France had before the Revolution. They even attempted to create a new deity in the form of Mother France. The  Girondins, another faction, were the ones who were in control. They represented the interests of the rich bourgeoisie of the provinces.  Under Girondin control, people who were against the Revolution were attempting to restore the old Regime. France never escaped chaos during this time. This was an opportunity for the Jacobins to take over by creating the Commission of Public Safety, who were in charge of the police and the guillotine. Soon, the Jacobins were able to remove the Girondins from power by use of the guillotine. Thus, Robespierre's Reign of Terror begun. To make things short, the people suffered under the hands of the Jacobins. Men were forced to be conscripts. Soon, the people decided to arrest Robespierre and his minions for he was considered as a threat to public safety. Thus, Robespierre was able to get a taste of his own medicine.
