The main causes of the conflict between the Nez Perces and the US government are the ownership of land and unfair demands of US government. The U. S government demands to move to a reservation and leave your lands are not acceptable for the people of  Nez Perces so the people of Nez Perces decided to defend their mother land at any cost so for that reason they fought the war with US army on 1877 but fail to defend their lands and escape from their lands.
