Read this excerpt from "What I Hope to Leave Behind."
Why would paraphrasing be an effective way to
communicate this excerpt to an audience?
As I see it we can have no new deal until great groups of
people, particularly the women, are willing to have a
revolution in thought; are willing to look ahead, completely
unconscious of losing the house on Fifth Avenue as long
as somewhere they have a place to live which they
themselves may gradually make into a home; are willing to
give up constant competition for a little more material
welfare and cooperate in everything which will make all
those around them acquire a little more freedom and
graciousness in life.
O You could quickly summarize the main points for an
audience who may not know about Eleanor Roosevelt.
O You could use the names of contemporary women to
illustrate how Eleanor Roosevelt's words apply today.
O You could keep much of the original language while
updating some of the older references.
O You could rearrange the sequence of information so
that it would be easier for your audience to understand

On a map showing the employment density of an urban area that follows the urban realms model, which of following statements best describes what the distribution of jobs might look like? (3 points) jobs closely follow major transit routes. jobs appear to be shifting from the inner to outer core. most jobs are concentrated around the central business district. jobs are distributed roughly in circles. several edge cities contain high numbers of jobs. which of these is not a criticism of the concentric zone model? (3 points) it does not accurately describe cities after the rise of suburban development. it only applies to cities that grew after the development of the automobile. it fails to address the development of cities outside of the united states. it assumes that inner-city areas will always be repurposed instead of abandoned. it places too much importance on the traditional central business district.
