Spanish monarchs ambitioned the gold and resources that the New World had in abundance. They established a colonial rule and started to send shipments of large sums of gold from the Americas into Spain.

The largest sums of gold and species, resources gave Spain the possibility to further finance exploration of the continent.

Since the Spanish relied too much on the gold as the means for engaging in economic exchange , they became very used to relying on colonies for extracting richness.

They also had religious wars that were supported mainly by the Spanish kings who ambitioned politically and geographically further control of territories in the Middle East.

In their turn, the English became aware of territories located to the North of the New World. These territories had hostile climates, and different conditions for settlers, so initially English were more into settling trade outposts.

The territories of Canada and Florida, Louisiana, New Orleans were fought to the French in a series of essays of England to show supremacy.

Since the colonies were not abundant as Spanish colonies, the English began to manage another economic model, and eventually supported the Piracy overseas.
