1763-1783: Florida Became a British (group of people or other living things). In 1763, France, Britain, and Spain signed the Agreement (between countries) of Paris at the end of the French and Indian War. As part of the agreement (between countries), France gave up almost all of its land in North America and Spain gave up Florida.

1783: On September 3, 1783, another Agreement (between countries) of Paris was signed ending the American Revolution. It was at this time that Britain recognized the independence of the United States. Although Spain regained Florida, its rule was short lived. ... Florida became a (land area owned or controlled by someone) of the United States.

1795: The 1795 fighting against authority in East Florida was a short lived affair, barely extending south of the St. Johns River, and resulting in the deaths of only three Spanish soldiers. Thirty-three of the sixty-seven people identified as fighters by the Spanish escaped across the St. Marys River into Georgia.

1812: One of the most (ignored/didn't notice/looked at) events in early nineteenth century Florida history is the (what people commonly call a/not really a) "(person who loves his or her country) War" fought from 1812 to 1814. Edges of something/unexplored areasmen from both sides of the tense Florida-Georgia border attempted by force of arms to grab and take control of Spanish East Florida and join it to the United States with little delay.

1817-1818: First Seminole War, conflict between U.S. armed forces and the Seminole Indians of Florida that is generally dated to 1817-18 and that led Spain to give up Florida to the United States.
