Will someone tell me how they like this poem i wrote? and how are you today..
Although I still remember
The once happy memories we spent together
But the feeling of you is gone
Forever…
But the memories of you will last forever
Although your presence didn't
Within me are the feelings of emptiness, pain, and dispar
They are cold and defeating
Almost as if i'm in the middle of a cold lone sea
But just like the land your latency is nowhere to be found
Alas, im alone
With no one to hold me
With no once to care
The crashing icy waves grab ahold and take me under
Making me feel as if im an empty void
The once peaceful air is distant
And the light in which you use to bring me is gone
You are gone.
Why didn't you teach me
How to feel when i'm alone
Not drowning in a sea with waves full of pain
At moments the pain takes over and I feel numb…..
Why cant you be here to hold me and wipe the tears off my face
I miss the sound of your voice and the kindness of your heart, the warmth of your soul
But as time goes on i must learn
To love like you
To laugh like you
To smile like you
To be kind like you
But once again, only time will tell……

What is the meaning of each underlined word in these excerpts from "a modest proposal" by jonathan swift? i think it is agreed by all parties, that this prodigious number of children in the arms, or on the backs, or at the heels of their mothers, and frequently of their fathers, is in the present deplorable state of the kingdom, a very great additional grievance; and therefore whoever could find out a fair, cheap and easy method of making these children sound and useful members of the common-wealth, would deserve so well of the publick, as to have his statue set up for a preserver of the nation. some persons of a desponding spirit are in great concern about that vast number of poor people, who are aged, diseased, or maimed; and i have been desired to employ my thoughts what course may be taken, to ease the nation of so grievous an incumbrance. the word prodigious means . the word desponding means .

In act v of a midsummer night's dream, quince presents the prologue for “pyramus and thisbe.” when he finishes, hippolyta comments: indeed he hath played on his prologue like a child on a recorder—a sound, but not in government. which tone does the simile “played on his prologue like a child on a recorder” create? it creates a sad, wistful tone by comparing quince’s performance to a beautiful tune. it creates a surprised tone by comparing quince’s performance to an eloquent speech by a government official. it creates a relaxed tone by comparing quince’s performance to lovely recorder music. it creates a humorous tone by comparing quince’s performance to a child playing an instrument badly.
