Later on, The Articles of Confederation didn't work that well because foreign countries did not respect the U.S, British troops refused to leave the area, and Spain refused to give the U.S the right to use the Mississippi river. Seeing that The Articles of Confederation weren't working, Americans realized that they needed a stronger central government.
