For the first exercise of the unit, your task is to make the Harold Pinter Nobel prize-giving speech informal. Re-write the speech using the casual register of Sarah Palin and see if you can manage to convey the same ideas in a different way. You may well find that some of the more complex ideas become lost, but sometimes the challenge with speech writing is precisely this: conveying complex ideas in a style that your whole audience will be able to understand and relate to. Assignment Instructions: Submit your speech re-write in the Public Speaking 7.1 Dropbox. This assignment is worth 10 points.
