Before ending this lesson, take a moment to review an informative research essay you have written. you’ve probably already written a conclusion to the essay. but is it the best conclusion it can be? does it properly summarize the main subtopics of your essay? does it state in one or two sentences the “so what” of your topic. if your topic was abraham lincoln, your essay shouldn’t be just about abraham lincoln. it should answer, “so what about abraham lincoln? ” take five or ten minutes, and looking only at that single paragraph, revise your conclusion

In this project you will get practice writing sentences of more complexity. here is your goal for this assignment: write sentences containing present and past participles. write sentences containing gerunds. write ten sentences using the following terms as participles: feel, ride, smoke, pray, kneel, sacrifice, steal, talk, hit, and freeze. five of the terms must be used as present participles, while the other five must be used as past participles. then choose five of these verbs to write five sentences containing gerunds or gerund phrases. for these, identify the noun function of each gerund. your project will be graded based on the following: your attention to the instructions given above use of proper punctuation, spelling, grammar, and sentence construction (commonly called "conventions") requirements.
