Smith was a traditionally minded boss. He was no- nonsense, spoke his mind, and was generally respected by
the guys at work. He had never hired a woman in the
factory before, but then Dana O'Brien showed up with a
great résumé. When he told the guys about Dana and saw
the looks on their faces, he wondered whether he had
made a mistake.
