In “The Nymph’s Reply” Raleigh criticizes the folly of the Shepherd with a skeptical appraisal of the “seize the day” mentality of Marlowe’s poem. The reason being that he's promised to the nymph mean nothing to her because of her perspective of reality about love and that it is not forever and changes with time.
