Almost all writing fits into one genre or another. This is something that can certainly be debated, and often is. Research the various types of fictional genres, and try to figure out what genre Journey to the Center of the Earth would fit into. Using credible sources, such as .edu, try to find examples or definitions of the genre you choose. After you have done that, look for at least five examples from the novel that fit into the category.
