Poem “Easter Wings” by George Herbert

Look at the line at the end of the first stanza: "Then shall the fall further the flight in
me.” This seems like a paradox; what in the world might this mean? (Hint: Herbert was a
priest, so what might he be alluding to when he writes about “the fall”?).
