A cobalt matrix is reinforced with 35% tungsten carbide. A force of 175,000 N applied in the longitudinal direction of the composite results in strain of 1.25 x10-4. The elastic modulus for the composite is 350 GPa, the elastic modulus for the tungsten carbide is 685 GPa. Calculate the elastic modulus for the matrix.
