An acid base reaction is a reaction whereby an acid and a base reacts. The products of this chemical reaction is usually a salt and water .

A good example is when one mole of tetraoxosulphate(vi) acid which is represented as H2SO4 reacts with two moles of the base sodium hydroxide( NaOH) to form one mole of sodium sulphates which is a salt and two moles of water .

The reaction is shown below

H2SO4 + 2NaOH — Na2SO4 + 2H2O
