When water levels in the body get too low and the body becomes dehydrated, the pituitary gland releases a
hormone called anti-diuretic hormone (adh). adh signals to the kidneys to reduce the amount of water exiting the
body in urine. with the loss of fluid volume the blood pressure can drop, so adh (also called vasopressin) causes the
blood vessels to constrict resulting in an increase in blood pressure. in this process, during periods of dehydration,
which body system is not involved in maintaining the homeostatic balance of fluid volume?
