1. why shouldn’t you just use google?

I personally think you shouldn’t JUST use Google, because, Google isn’t always the most reliable source of information you could find rather than just looking in a book, such as it not always answering your question that you asked, it’ll give you responses around that area of the topic you searched up, and possibly find it after looking for it more than once, but if your unfortunate, you won’t find the response your looking for, though many people don’t have time for looking in books all the time so Google is the most used Q&A engine.

The factors might be:
peer pressure
wanting to try new things
bad influences in group of friends
famous people doing things
social media showing wrong ideas
