The subjunctive mode is a verb mode that is often used in subordinate sentences to express desires, orders, emotion, possibility, judgment, opinion, necessity, or statements that are contrary to the facts at present. The subjunctive is not a verbal tense but a mode (a mood).  (In Spanish: El modo subjuntivo es un modo del verbo que suele utilizarse en oraciones subordinadas para expresar deseos, órdenes, emoción, posibilidad, el juicio, la opinión, la necesidad, o declaraciones que son contrarias a los hechos en la actualidad.
