Lesson 3 Mini-situation There is a boy in Cucumanga, Bolivia, who has eight cents. And he also has a dog in Manitoba that collects rocks. The boy is looking for rocks to give to his dog. He wants to go to another country to spend his money. He goes to Maipú, Chile, and spends all his money buying rocks. He buys three Chilean rocks with the eight cents. He takes all of his money to the clerk at the rock shop. The girl gives him the rocks and says, "These rocks are yours." The boy explains that rocks are not for him. They are for his dog. The boy goes to Manitoba with his rocks. He sees his dog and gives him all the rocks. The dog does not like rocks from Chile and he does not accept them. The dog thinks rocks are ugly. The boy is sad because the dog does not like Chilean rocks and he does not have more money to buy other rocks.
