The men of the Buendía line, through the generations are the main characters who are named José Arcadio or Aureliano and the women are named Úrsula, Amaranta, or Remedios. As the title indicates, 100 years of solitude is about the way history repeats itself in a perpetual cycle throughout six generations. Specifically, each generation is condemned to repeat the mistakes and to celebrate the triumphs of the previous generation. That is that they learn through error, celebrate through experience, and repeate the perpetual cycle.The story is appealing to me because the concept of solitude is so multi-dimensional in that truly generations till now have experience it in a different light. For example sir Isaac Newton founded the basis for physics and other disciplines with solitude at the expense of interpersonal connections. Just like in the story, Jose is reserved and in solitude, searching the wonders of intricate systems and wonders. The very cycle of solitude and war that the family experiences is the something that humans keep going through and for that reason this book is very appealing. It compares to other books such as how to kill a mockingbird and other classics by the sync of plot that involves intricate human psychology and the understanding of the world. Essentially it compares with the though of solitude and experience that shape and build characters into their final form, in Jose's family case, triumph.Gabriel Garcia Marquez, from Columbia.
