In the 1800's women couldn't do much except for cook, clean, stay home, and watch the kids while entertaining the men. while in the 1900's they got a little more freedom, during world war 2 they were hired when the men left to war so they could still get the supplies they needed. they still weren't able to vote yet but they were able to work, wear shorter dresses, and cut their hair.hope this
