Why would someone want to live as an ascetic

Ascetic refers to the people who choose to abandon worldly pleasures in order to pursue spiritual goals.

The reasons tend to be vary from one person to another. But for most of them, they realize that indulging themselves in worldly pleasure do not give them a sense of satisfaction as they thought it should be.
