If maths isn't used in real life other than adding and subtracting then why is it needed? : /

Math is also used in real life every day by scientists, engineers, computer professionals, architects.  Did you know that a baker, yes, the guy/gal who makes bread in a bakery, needs to master math?  Same goes for a professional chef to calculate portions, a pastry chef needs to calculate the amount of flour and other ingredients according to the size of the cake.  Anyone who gets a pay cheque wants to verify if the amount is correct.  We can go on and on.
