Is important in storage and recall of new long-term memories?

The part of the brain that is important for not only storage but also recall of the new long-term memories is the hippocampus which is a part of the limbic system of the brain.  The limbic system itself is really important as it supports not only long-term memory but also things like emotion, motivation and behavior.
