The most common task done by forensic odontologists is to identify a victim using their dental remains. They are experienced in their job and highly trained dentists who utilize their know-hows to help in the identification of unknown remains and trace bite marks to a particular person. They may be called in by police officers or coroner. In death cases, they attend autopsies and also take pictures, cranial measurements, dental impressions, and x-rays from the remains of the dead person.
