Dream recollection rates vary from person to person. The dreams I recall depend on how I woke up (i.e. was I jolted or not)? Usually the latter dreams I can recall (around 2 or 3) but not much detail when I have not slept well. I might fail to recall my dream when I am awoken during NREM (Non Rapid Eye Movement) phase where you are not dreaming. I am usually able to recall my dreams if I try to recall them immediately after waking up.
