An independent judicial branch makes a society more democratic because

Sometimes there are decisions that need to be made that are not necessarily popular with the public but are just and needed for the good of all. In order to make these decisions, an independent judiciary was created. This gave further protection to their decisions and over time helped pass laws that helped Americans create a positive future.

United states v.  nixon, 418  u.s.  683 (1974),  was  a landmark  united states supreme court case  that resulted in a unanimous  decision  against president richard  nixon, ordering him to deliver tape recordings  and  other subpoenaed materials to a  federal  district  court.
