Were the complex societies in mesopotamia and egypt between 3500-1500 bce generally similar to or generally different from each other?

Although each of these complex and ancient civilizations such as Mesopotamia and Egypt did have very similar forms of society and social norms established, they differed in terms of the resources they had available to them, and therefore had distinct forms of lifestyle.
