This is because if that animal disappears , like the owl or wolf, populations like the bunny will overpopulate, causing vegetation and plants to decrease quickly,  causing other animals to not get the nutrients they need. Then all the population will start depleating due to no supplies. This is why a predator needs to be there, for population control to keep the circle of life balanced.
