Today I'm going to tell you about how the government of Athens compares to the government of the United States. First, both governments are democracies which means that people vote. Also, both governments have people that decide on the laws. In Athens those people are called the council of 500 and in the United States those people are called congressman. There are also several differences between the two types of governments. First, in the US we have a representative democracy which means that people vote on representatives who create the laws.
