We depend on forests for our survival, from the air we breathe to the wood we use. Besides providing habitats for animals and livelihoods for humans, forests also offer watershed protection, prevent soil erosion and mitigate climate change.

Some of the wood is converted to charcoal and used for cooking.Forests provide shelter to various plant and animal species. Forests control the water flow. The thick layer of humus in forests prevents evaporation of water. Wood is used for making furniture in houses.or animals and livelihoods for humans, forests also offer watershed protection, prevent soil erosion and mitigate climate change.
