Sustainable development can be defined as an approach to the economic development of a country without compromising with the quality of the environment for future generations.

Sustainable development is also basically an action plan which helps us to achieve sustainability in any activity which makes use of the resource. Through sustainable development, we formulate organising principles which help to sustain the limited resources essential to provide for the needs of our future generations.

Sustainable development is the development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
