An indigent defendant was arrested and charged with burglary. At his preliminary hearing, counsel was appointed. Unable to satisfy the conditions for his pre-trial release, the defendant was detained in jail awaiting trial on the burglary charge. While the defendant was in jail, a police detective questioned him about an unrelated murder without his lawyer present. Prior to questioning, the police detective revealed that she was a police officer and Mirandized the defendant. nowadays, 93% of the arab population is muslim, which at the same time is subdivided in sects including the sunni, zaini, alawi, shia. the remaining 7% is composed mainly of christians.
