One of the ways that ethnography is written in the twenty-first century has to do with native voices. in general, compared with the past, there has been emphasis on including native voices.

There has been an increase in trying to understand and include native voices in ethnographic studies. By doing this, we get a clearer picture of the totality of society and can also tease out specific cultural traits that might be considered "foreign" or "odd" to those who may not be aware or appreciative of what the practices mean.
