Why did the framers create the electoral college?

One reason for the Electoral College was that the founding fathers believed that popular vote can be manipulated. They believed that a tyrant could manipulate public opinion.

Another reason is that that what smaller states would have a stronger representation and the framers believed that smaller states should be supported.

d) supreme court of justice. to counteract the rigidity of the written constitution, judicial action is required to interpret said constitution and necessary changes can be made.
