What differences can you find in the goals supported by today's republican and democratic parties?

Ok. so republicans want freedom in the sense of old times.. where less gov't = freedom.. 
democrats want equality.. thinking that the days of old no longer apply to todays society.. capitalism took force, and it is no longer possible to simply work just a 9-5 job and support a family.. 
greed is the rich get everything they want and still complain that they don't have enough.. while the poor get robbed for everything they have.
