Scientists believe that the earth’s moon was formed by the collision of a large body with the earth.

 The giant-impact hypothesis, sometimes called the Big Splash, or the Theia Impact suggests that the Moon formed out of the debris left over from a collision between Earth and an astronomical body the size of Mars, approximately 4.5 billion years ago,

Based on my research and knowledge this is TRUE.
Because 4.5million years ago a huge object collided with the earth causing it to break apart and form the moon.

It is meant that like tapestry scientific theories often need to pull out since they are not relevant and often times the whole chain of theories may be pulled out.
