According to the UN statistic divisions, there are four subregions in which the European continent is divided:

Eastern Europe –  North Asia (Siberia) and Central Europe in this subregion Northern Europe – and also the British IslesSouthern Europe - above the Mediterranean seaWestern Europe – includes Germany plus the surrounding German-speaking countries.
